Join us for the HypnoBirthing (HB) Support Techniques Training to be held near Houston, TX! This training will be led by France Wilson of San Diego HypnoBirthing.
Date: Saturday, March 13, 2010
Time: 9am-5pm (with one hour lunch break)
Location: Bay Area Birth Center, Pasadena, TX (www.houstonmidwife.com)
Cost: $250; includes all materials and HypnoBirthing book. $225 for recently certified doulas. $230 if you already own a copy of the most recent addition of the HB book. No combined discounts. Must have a minimum of 10 registrants prior to February 28, 2010.
Who: All doulas and midwives that seek to support their HB families to their fullest capability.
What:
Ø Understand the HypnoBirthing® Philosophy
Ø Define hypnosis and explain how it works and why it isn’t mind control
Ø Identify proper use of HypnoBirthing® terminology and its importance during the prenatal period as well as during the birthing
Ø Understand and implement the same techniques taught to birth companions during the HypnoBirthing® class series for parents
Ø Identify the components of the HypnoBirthing® Birth Preference Sheet, how to implement the parent’s wishes and work in concert with the birthing staff
Ø Understand the components of the “Informed Refusal” and when to use it
Ø Understand and utilize information and techniques for creating parent-driven decision-making on the following items: induction evaluation, augmentation of labor, hazards of induction and surgical birth, labor medications, epidural and Group B Strep.
Ø Identifying when and how to use the HypnoBirthing® prompts and techniques, what you can do to keep this birthing Mom relaxed and birthing comfortably
Ø Understand the “bigger picture” of birth in the United States and how HypnoBirthing® fits in to what is currently considered ‘normal’
